Alison McQuitty
Alison McQuitty is a free-lance archaeologist/heritage
management consultant currently living in the Netherlands. She was Director of
BIAAH/CBRL (1989-91 and 1994-1999) and is presently Research Associate at the
Centre of Tourism and Culture Change, Sheffield Hallam University. Her research
interests are the post-Byzantine rural landscape of Jordan; vernacular
architecture; community development within tourism and the role of women
archaeologists in developing the discipline. Current projects include the
publication of her excavations at
Khirbat Faris, Jordan - co-directed with Dr
Jeremy Johns; the Salt Museum Renovation Project and the Umm Qays community
development and tourism project. She and her husband also run cultural,
ornithological and walking tours to the Middle East, North Africa and Eastern
Europe. |
