CBRL maintains an up-to-date research library with branches in Amman and Jerusalem.

The libraries contain well over 20,000 volumes of monographs and journals, as well as an extensive collection of off-prints and maps.

Rare books, as well as archives detailing the work of British researchers in the region, can be consulted on demand. Some of these documents date back to the earliest 20th century.

The libraries provide the following research resources for visiting and local researchers:

  • On-Line Catalogue: The on-line catalogue gives remote access information on holdings in both libraries.

  • Main Collection: Monographs are available for browsing.

  • Periodicals: All journals are available for browsing.

  • Off prints: Details of off prints on the catalogue.

  • Map Collection: Visitors to either library can arrange to use the collection of local and regional maps.

  • Rare Books: A collection of rare books can be viewed (on request).

  • Aerial Photographs: A selection of aerial photographs can be viewed (on request in Amman).

  • Facilities: Photocopying, scanning and internet facilities are all available.
